The Cambridge Singing Competition is an opportunity for students from 3rd grade through 8th grade and is open to the public. A qualified vocal judge will assess the performances in a closed audition, give positive and encouraging comments, and helpful suggestions for improvement in singing. All participants will receive a judge’s comment sheet and certificate.
Singing in early years shows many benefits. These include aiding brain development, language enhancement, and building confidence to communicate with others. Singing can encourage deep breathing, brain multitasking, differentiation between opposing tasks (slow/fast, loud/soft), and can help develop imagination and creativity.
By Singing in competitions, children learn life skills, become self-assured and understand that if they want something worth having, they must work hard for it.
There are 3 levels of this competition. Four cash award winners from each level will be chosen by the judge:
Dazzling Star | 3rd & 4th Grade |
Rising Star | 5th & 6th Grade |
Shining Star | 7th & 8th Grade |
