Cambridge Academy of Music sponsors and hosts two competitions for elementary to high school students:
Cambridge Singing Competition
Cambridge Guitar Competition
Open to the public, these competitions are opportunities to showcase students’ talents and will be judged by qualified professional musicians. Each participant will receive constructive feedback, helpful suggestions for improvement, a comment sheet, and a certificate. Winners will be chosen by the adjudicator to receive a monetary prize.
Music learning at a young age provides numerous benefits, including enhanced brain development, improved coordination, and increased confidence. Playing an instrument and singing encourages multitasking, rhythmic precision, creativity, and imagination while also fostering a deep connection to music.
While competitions can be nerve-racking, they also offer excitement and valuable social interactions. They help students build life skills, self-confidence, and the understanding that hard work is crucial to achieving success.
Please share this information with any students who may be interested in participating.
