The
Academy believes that music study should build self-esteem and a
love for the arts, provide rewarding experiences, challenge the
mind and body, and establish self-discipline.
The
Academy offers private music instructions in most instruments
for students of all ages, from newborns to adults. All
teachers associated with the Academy are qualified specialists in
their fields who focus on the nurturing of each student. The Academy
assumes that its students have a desire to begin music education,
are willing to attend classes regularly and practice at home to
achieve the goals set by the teachers.

Private students of the Academy have excelled in adjudicated auditions,
such as the Practical and Theory Examinations of the Associated Board of
the Royal Schools of Music, National Guild Piano Auditions, National Federation of Music Clubs Junior Festivals, Georgia Music
Teachers Association State competitions, Georgia Music Educators Association All-State auditions, and various festivals and competitions. We believe
that participation in these events encourages students to achieve excellence
in solo performance and meet the national and international standards. We
provide recitals that are opportunities for students
to learn from each other and build the experience and confidence they require
performing in public.

The
study of music is a year-round commitment. The Academy offers classes
in two semesters from September to May and summer classes from June
to August.
Teachers
in the Academy hold memberships in Music Teachers National Association
(MTNA), Music Educators National Conference (MENC), National Federation
of Music Clubs (NFMC), American String Teachers Association (ASTA),
National Guild of Piano Teachers (NGPT), and the International Association
of Jazz Educators (IAJE).
